When you visit the modern day site at Ad Gefrin you will notice the gateposts have been skilfully and beautifully carved into the form of goat’s heads. You may also spot carved references to the Bamburgh Beast and the striking visage of an Anglo Saxon warrior.

These are the work of local artist Eddie Robb. Eddie, who lived locally, had his home, workshop and studio not far from the Ad Gefrin site in a stunning location along the College Valley.
